EFT Tapping to Soothe the Soul, with Dena

What is EFT Tapping?

EFT Tapping is a simple and scientifically validated method to alleviate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, pain, and other stressors.

We use our fingertips to tap on acupoints on our own face and upper body. This tapping soothes and regulates the nervous system, reducing cortisol and other stress hormones.

What EFT Tapping looks like: Gently tapping on several acupressure points of my head and upper body while speaking about what I am experiencing. I use phrases about a) what is bothering me, b) being willing to have compassion for what I’m experiencing, and c) how I’d like to feel.

Meet Dena Clayton

I am passionate in sharing this scientifically studied, evidence based method of EFT Tapping to help you move beyond difficulties. In the process of EFT/Emotional Freedom Technique, the nervous system releases stress and other unwanted feelings. Anxiety, grief, trauma, depression, and pain are examples of these.

Creating a safe, compassionate emotional space for each participant during EFT Tapping is a strength of mine. My heart is touched when a client’s face brightens and mood shifts as we gently tap several acupressure points and follow the flow of the session.

In addition to using EFT Tapping on myself in my everyday life, I choose to receive sessions regularly from an EFT practitioner as part of my ongoing inner work. The emotional healing I have experienced in these sessions and what I have witnessed when I work with clients is liberating.

Relieving stress is often a main result folks are seeking through EFT. I love being part of this in both Soothes the Soul EFT Tapping Circles and in individual sessions. In addition, there are two specialty areas of work I brought with me into EFT. One is working with people who are grieving, whether losses are recent or long ago. Another is supporting people who are experiencing life limiting health conditions. This includes individuals living with frightening diagnoses and those who are close to them. For more than twenty years before I began EFT training, a primary focus of my psychotherapy practice included these life situations.
